why attend

NZIEC brings together practitioners and leaders from New Zealand and around the world to explore strategies for growth in international education. The conference provides an opportunity to discuss, strategise and connect with expert speakers and delegates.

Why attend?

You will gain the latest information and insights you need to thrive, as well as the chance to connect with hundreds of other colleagues working within the industry. You will contribute real solutions to some of the key challenges and opportunities we collectively face. You will also learn new ideas and approaches you can apply within your own organisation and community.

Who attends?

Between 600 and 700 delegates attend NZIEC each year. 2019's conference attracted delegates from New Zealand and 21 countries around the world.

This conference is for the international education community and therefore attracts attendees from all education sectors, including schools, institutes of technology, English language providers, universities, education agents and education technology and services businesses.

Government representatives, foreign dignitaries, NGO staff, economic development agencies and local government representatives also attend.

Essentially, everyone who is anyone in the world of international education!

What previous delegates say

Extremely well run, the networking space was set up well with a good range of booths and fun things to do in between sessions. Very impressed with the running of the event. 2019

A really engaging way to kick off the day and left a lasting impression. I personally enjoyed the presentations on developing markets – India, Vietnam, Latin America. I found these incredibly insightful and something I can relate directly to my line of work. To see something similar at next year’s conference would be great. 2019

Excellent topics, with something for everyone. 2019

This was my first time at NZIEC and I loved the Ministerial addresses and the keynote speakers. 2019

... really enjoy NZIEC as a place to get away from daily tasks and connect with others, but also broaden ideas and perspective of international education. 2019

Everything went super smooth and was really well organised. Even us on the debate panel from Australia were commenting how well the conference was run compared to other international ed conferences we’d all been to. 2018

Fantastic organisation. Really must congratulate all that put the event together. Great choice for keynote and other speakers. Smaller breakaway sessions with plenty of interesting topics. Great food and the jazz and bar really allowed for good networking opportunities. Best NZIEC by a country mile. 2018

Thank you for a great conference. Best one yet. I yawn when I start counting the education conferences I’ve been to around the world, and some have been shockers! But this was the first for a long time that managed to induce “post-conference depression”; you know: a low feeling following on from a real high! 2018
